Dr. Lefner is a double board certified pediatrician and neonatologist who has spent her professional career taking care of infants and children. After completing her training, she moved to Saratoga Springs and worked in the NICU at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY for nearly 9 years. Currently, Dr. Lefner is the Chair of Pediatrics and Chief of Newborn Medicine at Saratoga Hospital. There she also serves as Chair of the Women in Leadership Committee for the Saratoga Hospital Medical Group and sits on the Leadership Board of SHMG as well. Additional board work for Dr. Lefner includes sitting on the board of the Incredible Teddy Foundation, which supports families affected by congenital diaphragmatic hernia.

During her medical education at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Dr. Lefner began to work and volunteer with the Double H Ranch, a camp for children with serious illness co-founded by Charles R. Wood and Paul Newman. She and her husband of 18 years met during their tenure at the camp, and are still actively involved with its mission.

More recently Dr. Lefner founded Seedlings Baby Food, LLC, which produces farm fresh food for babies using locally sourced ingredients from a partnership with local farmers.

In her free time, Dr. Lefner loves spending time with her family, including her two daughters, and her dear friends. Her hobbies include gardening, running, skiing, and cooking.
